RELATIONSHIPS THAT SPAN GENERATIONS….
Doug started out as a minor league baseball player. After his playing career he decided to settle in Clearwater, FL and began working events and eventually joining the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce. This resulted in a relationship with the Phillies and the chance to join the organization as they developed a new stadium in the area, being part of its growth and the community ever since.

The greatest joy in his position is meeting and getting to know different generations of families. Their staff is made up of families that work side by side while serving those families whom he has seen grow throughout his time at the ballpark. He enjoys making connections with people.

Having the opportunity to work with city and county officials, he never tires of telling the story of the Phillies and Threshers support of the community. As the political landscape changes it is important to share the history of the organization and the roots they have in the community, since 1947. These relationships have enabled the organization to gain needed support for renovations that will be completed in Jan. 2029.

BEYOND THE EVENTS:
Proudest moment was creatively & safely hosting 17 graduations, 4 each day for a week, for the Pinellas County schools, during COVID and giving families that memorable moment.

Doug’s advice: Everything is your job, nothing is beneath you. Know what challenges other departments face, be sympathetic and assist if you can.

Doug looks forward to every moment he gets to spend with his 9 year old daughter. She is the inspiration and motivating factor to make him be the best version of himself and a leader for the people whom he works with and supports.
