TURNING A PASSION FOR HELPING OTHERS INTO SUCCESS…
After graduating with a degree in Business Administration from Virginia Intermont College, Adam’s career began 23 years ago with an internship at Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS), working at the ice rink they operated. He applied his analytics knowledge to the internship and opened eyes to what they could do differently, leading to a role in the track’s Purchasing Department. There, he made an immediate impact by optimizing vendor contracts and cutting costs, which led to his role as Director of Purchasing for Speedway Motorsports in 2010. This role embedded him in every department, where he got a strong understanding of the role of each department. After two years in that role, he returned to BMS, where he was promoted to VP of Purchasing & Technology. He was then promoted to his current, and favorite role, VP of Events & Operations at BMS in 2020.

Adam’s passion for uplifting those around him is evident in every conversation. A natural servant leader, he finds fulfillment in helping others succeed, preferring to work behind the scenes to support their growth. For him, success isn’t about recognition—it’s about ensuring those he works with have the tools and opportunities they need to excel.

The Battle at Bristol in 2016 was one of Adam’s key projects, and its success has naturally shaped the work he does today. Adam is excited about the incredible opportunities at BMS to host world-class events, such as the MLB Classic. He believes these marquee events not only create unforgettable moments but also elevate the venue’s profile and open the door for future opportunities.

BEYOND THE EVENTS:
Adam says that his inspiration is his purpose as a husband and father. His purpose is rooted in continuously striving to be a better version of himself for his family, whether that is physically, mentally, or spiritually. He is committed to growing and evolving each day.

Adam’s advice for the next generation is simple: once you get your foot in the door, give your best effort in everything you do. Treat every request, no matter who it comes from, with the same level of importance, as it shapes your success and reputation. “You never know who is watching or how impactful your efforts will be,” he says.

Adam credits Jerry Caldwell as his mentor, learning from him not just through conversations but by observing his leadership and the way he prioritizes both business and family. He credits Jerry with teaching him the importance of putting yourself first with a powerful reminder that “The business will be fine, but if they don’t have the best you, then we’re all in trouble.”
